March 1, 2022 Jeanie opens the program by reading from the draft of her book, particularly the chapter “Be Aware.” She uses her own history of sexual and relationship trauma to examine the difference between what is happening in the Present and the reality the mind constructs from unresolved material. During a Breath session years after her abuse, a participant became physically wild and uncontrollable. Although Jeanie outwardly remained composed, internally she entered panic. A psychologist friend helped her return to the Present through deep Breaths and deliberate awareness of what she could see, hear, feel and smell. Once present, she discovered that her terror was connected with her former husband and the experience of being physically overpowered rather than with the woman she had been assisting. The experience becomes a vivid demonstration of Actuality versus reality. The woman downstairs was the trigger; Jeanie’s internally generated experience arose from unresolved content already within her. She recognizes a long-established survival sequence: when circumstances move beyond her control, fear and panic arise, anger can mask the fear, and the impulse is to leave—leave the room, leave the relationship, even leave awareness of the body. The woman’s outward behavior had mirrored material Jeanie had carried inwardly for decades. Jeanie connects this with intimacy—“into me see”—and the willingness to allow another person close enough to encounter who she actually is. The healing path requires slowing the inner chatter that claims to know what is happening, recognizing when the past is being placed over the Present, opening the eyes, returning to the body and Breathing. She also discusses fight, flight, freeze and dissociation as survival adaptations that can continue operating long after the original danger has passed. The reading broadens into Jeanie’s childhood and family development. She describes an early belief that she was less loved than her brother, followed by mistrust and a drive toward extreme independence and pleasing others—becoming what she calls a “human-doer instead of a human being.” In hindsight, she recognizes that this was her childhood reality rather than the Actuality of a family in which she was deeply loved. March 2, 2022 Dr. Michael Ryce joins from Sarasota after work in California, Las Vegas and Florida. He discusses the collaboration with Dr. John, Nasal Cranial Release and their interest in developing an approach to health care focused on creating health rather than primarily managing disease. He also reports a dramatic increase in downloads of the HeartLand Aramaic Forgiveness app and returns to the foundational distinction: Forgiveness is something done within oneself, rather than letting another person off the hook. Much of the program becomes a live relationship-healing session. A caller recognizes that the breakup of his parents when he was eight had left fear about whether he would survive or be okay. Similar material is now active around the ending of an adult relationship. Michael suggests doing worksheets not only from his own perspective but imaginatively from the perspectives of his mother and father, looking for unconscious material still operating through the family relationship. Michael then guides him through a releasing emotional attachments exercise. With eyes closed and Breath active, awareness is brought to an imagined intersection of two “pencils of light”—one entering through the top of the head and one through the forehead. From that centered position, the caller invokes Rukha and releases his attachment to his parents staying together. He immediately reports feeling lighter and more empowered: if their staying together is no longer required for his survival, he can discover that he is capable of being okay regardless. Michael then takes the process another step: cancel the goal for the parents to stay together. The emotional attachment and the goal had helped organize a reality that could continue recreating itself in later relationships. Canceling the goal provides an opportunity to interrupt that unconscious recreation and allow another way of thinking, behaving and relating to emerge. March 3, 2022 The program begins with news of a new global online book club in the United Kingdom studying Why Is This Happening to Me Again?, along with continued expansion of the Forgiveness app, MindShifters and StillPoint Breathing. Michael discusses resistance through the Aramaic understanding of satana. Rather than an external red creature with horns and a pitchfork, he describes satana as resistance—the state in which the mind generates stories that another person is responsible for what is happening within us. He emphasizes that the teachings shared on MindShifters are autobiographical: many of the tools evolved because he, Jeanie and others encountered another layer in themselves that required healing. A substantial portion of the program explores integrity. A caller describes returning money after realizing she had unintentionally benefited from something that belonged to someone else. Michael connects the experience with the Commitment: integrity is carried through physiology, thoughts, words and emotions, while Forgiveness addresses whatever remains out of integrity. The discussion presents healing mind and healing body as interconnected aspects of restoring vitality and wholeness. Another caller brings pain around her sister, whom she identifies as a Power Person. Michael redirects the focus from problem-solving the sister to healing the caller’s own internal material: “I can’t heal her, but I can heal me.” Healing oneself changes the relational energy field and creates a different possibility for the other person. Michael notices constriction in the caller’s throat and jaw and brings attention directly back to consciously opening and Breathing. March 4, 2022 Jeanie and Michael describe the extraordinary reception of Why Is This Happening to Me Again? by the international book club. The group had begun with the PowerPoint presentation and chapter-by-chapter discussion and wanted Michael’s assistance in learning the Reality Management Wake-Up Sheet. Michael describes a meditation during the book-club meeting in which approximately forty people focused on extending Love. One woman who had felt alone visibly opened; another whose mother had survived the Holocaust and whose family had suffered losses softened from a heavy emotional state into smiling. Michael interprets the growing receptivity he had witnessed in California, Las Vegas and now internationally as movement toward a critical mass of people learning to function as Human Beings—Love. The central principle is Responsibility. When pain is attributed to another person, access to its actual internal source remains obscured. When someone recognizes, “I am responsible for this,” previously hidden areas of the mind become available for healing. The work therefore becomes simpler rather than more complex: recognize what is occurring within, Breathe, take responsibility and work with what arises. A caller asks about receiving inner guidance. Michael explains that the ability is cultivated by quieting the noise of pain, rage, sadness and grief through Forgiveness so the subtler inner voice becomes perceptible. The objective is to connect each individual with the inner source rather than an external authority. The answers are already available within; the skill that must be cultivated is listening. March 7, 2022 This is an especially important archival program because Michael gives substantial history of the Khabouris Manuscript and the origins of the Laws of Living work. He tells the story of attorney Dan McDougall (“Mr. Mac”), whose interest in why people could sincerely believe false realities while behaving contrary to their own commitments led him into work with Aramaic material and prisoners. Michael describes McDougall’s search for an earlier complete text after work with the incomplete Yonan Codex and the eventual acquisition of the manuscript that became central to their work. Michael and McDougall discovered that they had traveled parallel paths: Michael through health and Lessons in Living, McDougall through justice and Emotional Maturity Instruction. Combining their work produced Laws of Living, drawing particularly upon the work of twenty-five Aramaic translators associated with the manuscript project. The crucial distinction concerns the meaning of Law. Law is presented as something radically different from the “rule of a superior.” It describes the way the system works. Michael connects this directly with Y’Shua and Rakhma. Rather than merely commanding people to “love your neighbor,” the Aramaic instruction is presented as maintaining Rakhma—the gateway through which Human Life enters expression and perception remains aligned with Love. Hostility and fear signal movement out of harmony with the Laws of Human Life. “Sin” is likewise presented as an archery image—energy that is off the mark. “The wages of sin is death” therefore becomes a description of energetic consequence rather than divine punishment: repeatedly engaging hostility, fear, rage, guilt, grief, vengeance and abuse introduces disintegrative energies into the system. Forgiveness removes those energies and restores alignment with Human Life. Michael then connects the teaching directly with healing. What is hidden in denial must become available in the Presence of Love. Willingness permits hidden material to emerge; Forgiveness dissolves what does not belong. He presents this as the practical healing dimension of Y’Shua’s First-Century Aramaic teaching rather than primarily theology or philosophy. YouTube https://youtu.be/HED3KwYyjF8 |

March 8, 2022 This program provides an unusually practical demonstration of the Reality Management Wake-Up Sheet. Jeanie opens by defining Forgiveness as going inside to find and remove anger, fear, hostility, grief and pain rather than letting another person “off the hook.” She makes the larger connection explicit: when we remove the wars within ourselves, we remove the foundation for war in the world. Lynn calls because she repeatedly chooses men with whom relationships become painful and fears repeating the pattern. Jeanie demonstrates how to “back into” a worksheet. Rather than processing relationships as a broad abstraction, Lynn chooses one specific man, one specific incident and the goal for a “perfect relationship.” The external event becomes the trigger rather than the cause. An important teaching emerges when Lynn identifies both fear and anger. Jeanie recommends two worksheets, because different emotional experiences can reveal different underlying thoughts and unconscious material. Fear connects with the thought of being physically hurt; anger connects with not speaking up for herself. This illustrates the “Hydra effect”: one worksheet can reveal additional heads of material requiring their own processing. Michael’s first question when joining the conversation is, essentially, “Have you been Breathing?” Jeanie explains that held Breath is one mechanism through which material can remain denied. Breathing while entering the feeling helps open access to what has been hidden. Later, feelings are compared with a fire alarm. Silencing the alarm does nothing about the smoke. Likewise, merely substituting happy thoughts does not resolve the content producing fear or sadness. The feeling provides guidance that something underneath is ready to be found and healed. March 9, 2022 Michael returns to Virginia and offers a major expansion of the Power Person dynamic. He defines the three simultaneous conditions through which it becomes established: someone has more power over your life than you do; that person is functioning outside the state of Human Life/Love; and you perceive the circumstance as involving your survival. Under those conditions, a powerful pattern becomes installed in the body-mind system. Michael then explains the three stress-dependent expressions. With little stress, a person tends to do whatever once helped them get along with the Power Person. As stress increases, they repeat what they once did to resist or survive the Power Person. Under ultra-stress, they begin doing what the Power Person did to them—the very behavior they once hated. A real-life experience gave Michael a new insight. Someone who had previously experienced profound benefit from StillPoint became highly resistant when Michael suggested Breathing during a period of severe stress. The apparent contradiction suddenly made sense through the Power Person model: resistance to healing itself can be part of the replicated Power Person pattern. Michael emphasizes that the inherited behavior can feel absolutely correct. Under enough stress, the body-mind retrieves the Power Person’s strategy as though it were the best available survival response. Genuine Choice therefore requires becoming conscious before the automatic decision system takes command. Jeanie applies the teaching to the enormous stress surrounding moving her father into memory care. Michael asks her to look for the goals producing the stress. His principle is concise: circumstances themselves are not “stressful”; goals create stress. Discovering and canceling the active goals can release enough stress for deeper processing to occur. March 10, 2022 This program is essentially a Laws of Living workshop, beginning with a deceptively simple question: Have you ever done something you later regretted? Participants identify the emotional states active when they committed those acts—fear, shame, disconnection, arrogance and similar conditions. Michael notes that after asking tens of thousands of people this question, “loving” never appears as the state from which regretted behavior arose. He then distinguishes Choice from decision. Decisions are automatic outputs from stored material. When emotional charge is sufficiently strong, these stored decisions can take over behavior and remove access to genuine Choice. What appears to be a rational response in the Present can therefore be the automatic output of old material. The teaching then moves directly into Reality versus Actuality. Actuality is what is happening in the world; reality is the mind’s constructed output. If an external event truly caused behavior, everyone encountering the identical event would behave identically. Instead, the event resonates stored content, and the mind constructs a reality from that content. Behind the reality is a goal. Goals recruit the stored material used to construct perception. Hidden goals therefore become central to understanding unwanted behavior: identify the goal, become conscious of what it recruits, and the possibility of a different Choice opens. Michael expands the meaning of Law with an electrical-wiring analogy. Law does not restrict liberty; understanding how electricity works makes it possible to use electricity safely and freely. In the same way, understanding the Laws of Human Life produces greater freedom. He connects this with Sir William Blackstone’s description of laws and happiness and then with Y’Shua’s concern with Law as the way the Life system operates. YouTube https://youtu.be/3kgjJpRAaR0 |

March 11, 2022 Michael continues what he describes as a new level of insight into the Power Person dynamic after roughly a quarter-century of teaching it. He again establishes the three installation conditions—greater power, the Power Person functioning outside Love, and survival being perceived by the recipient—and then introduces the concept of the replicate mind. Like a computer, the carbon-based mind reproduces what has been programmed into it. Much of what appears to be Present-moment reasoning is therefore a decision from the past masquerading as present Choice. The teaching becomes more specific. Under ultra-stress, the person may reproduce not merely the Power Person’s behavior but their physical tension, emotional energy, resistance, thought patterns, words and even vocal qualities. The strategy that was hated in childhood can later feel like the only sensible route to safety or success. One of the deepest additions is resistance to correction. Precisely when someone most needs Forgiveness and truthful feedback, the replicated Power Person dynamic may produce the same hostility toward correction that the original Power Person displayed. Michael therefore emphasizes making commitments and Choices while conscious, before ultra-stress activates the automatic decision system. The violated goal remains central. A goal is violated, stress rises, unconscious Power Person material is recruited, and the mind constructs a pain-based reality that appears to describe today’s person or event while actually replicating unresolved material from the past. The constructed reality then displaces Actuality. Michael connects this directly with codependence and denial: whenever we think or speak as though someone outside us is responsible for what is happening within us, we enter the codependent structure. Owning the fear, hostility or pain restores access to it and therefore restores the possibility of Forgiveness. A caller, Celinda, recognizes the Power Person dynamic operating deeply in her own life. Michael gives an important two-directional assignment: examine both where you were the object of the Power Person dynamic and where you later became the Power Person for someone else. Working from both directions can accelerate healing. YouTube https://youtu.be/QEkbq-YDZN8 |

March 14, 2022 This program brings several of the month’s themes together into a concentrated discussion of disease, denial, energy, perception and Forgiveness. Michael begins with a friend facing serious disease and asks how someone can possess enormous knowledge while the body deteriorates. He identifies denial as a central issue: first, denying that something within needs attention; second, projecting the source outward by saying another person “made me angry,” “hurt me,” or caused what is happening inside. In that process, Michael says, the actual internal material becomes dissociated and held in the system. He frames Life as an energy system in which there are integrative and disintegrative energies. Health requires the removal of disintegrative material rather than merely rearranging the external world. This leads directly back to the Aramaic distinction between Forgiveness and pardon. Pardon concerns what another person did; Forgiveness concerns removing what is operating within one’s own system. Michael then returns to perception. We do not actually “see” the world with our eyes; the brain constructs the world we experience. The external world is Actuality, while perception is a construct generated from the content of the mind. Forgiveness collapses pain-based perceptual constructs and thereby opens access to the unconscious content underneath them. That content may originate in childhood, adulthood or, within Michael’s framework, many generations of the bloodline. This makes March 14 an especially important companion to the March 9–11 Power Person material: what appears to be happening “out there” can be the brain’s Present-moment projection of unresolved content from “back there.” Forgiveness is the technology for collapsing that substituted reality, gaining access to what produced it and allowing healing to occur. YouTube https://youtu.be/GU7seVjPffM Additional Notes: How do we end up in such dis-ease states when one is supposedly ‘enlightened’? Denial, thinking something outside of me is the cause of the pain. Then it gets locked away in tissue. Youtube channel “What Is The World?” https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fFPn8heN21Q&t=22s Perceptual constructs tend to mimic generational patterns. Hostility, fear and grief (etc) are disintegrative energy that does not belong in the structure. “As the light increases, we see ourselves to be worse than we thought. We are amazed at our former blindness as we see issuing forth from the depths of our heart a whole swarm of shameful feelings, like filthy reptiles crawling from a hidden cave. We never could have believed that we had harbored such things, and we stand aghast as we watch them gradually appear. But we must neither be amazed nor disheartened. We are not worse than we were; on the contrary, we are better. While our faults diminish, the light by which we see them waxes brighter and we are filled with horror. Bear in mind, for your comfort, that we only perceive our malady when the cure begins.” “Love is the cure, for your pain will keep giving birth to more pain until your eyes constantly exhale love as effortlessly as your body yields its scent.” “Second year syndrome otherwise called as Medical students’ disease is. a condition often reported in medical students who perceive themselves to be experiencing the symptoms of the disease they are studying. It is a form of acute hypochondriasis.” https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Medical_students%27_disease Question in chatroom: How do you remember these tools and practices during rough times? Practice, Practice, Practice Diederik Wolsak “Choose Again” today’s quote is “These ‘habitual thought patterns’ were established in the early years of my experience on this little planet. Even though they are habitual they do need to be fed. The bad news is that the feeding of these patterns takes place whether I am aware of it or not. Once I am aware of my habitual thinking, a consistent practice of mindfulness will starve the beliefs and the patterns begin to weaken and eventually vanish.” Tool of forgiveness (not pardoning) is the removal of what does not belong. March 15, 2022 Dr. Michael Ryce and Jeanie explore responsibility, offense, perception, Love, Forgiveness and Rakhma. Michael begins with Gandhi’s invitation to “be the change,” applying it to conflict: if we want war to disappear from the world, we can begin by healing the wars operating within ourselves. He defines denial as thinking or speaking as though something outside us causes what is happening inside us. Saying “you offended me” hides the internal capacity for offense, while saying “that brought up offense in me” restores responsibility and makes the material available for healing. Michael describes the mind as an evidential device constructing perception from only a tiny selection of available information. Goals and beliefs determine what evidence enters that construct, so a mind expecting to find an offender can produce a convincing reality that another person caused its pain. First-Century Aramaic Forgiveness is presented as removing the offense, rage, grief or fear within rather than forgiving another person or oneself. A central discussion clarifies Love as a state of Being rather than something we give, receive or “do.” Using the newborn child as an experiential reference, Michael describes our original nature as conscious, active, present Love. Rakhma is presented as the frontal-lobe gateway through which that Love enters physiology and keeps intentions aligned with Human Life. Susan asks about intuition versus guidance and about recognizing sadness in another person. Michael explains that we can recognize only what we have brain cells for, yet we can meet another’s sadness either from unresolved sympathetic identification or from healed compassion and Love. Susan later examines hopelessness, shame, perfectionism, aging and her desire to “get the work right.” Michael encourages her to recognize how dramatically anxiety and depression have already diminished and to Forgive the Power Person messages that continue to tell her she is inadequate. March 16, 2022 Jeanie opens with an intriguing extension of the Reality Management Worksheet: even experiences we label positive can reveal projection. If we believe another person “makes me happy,” we have placed the source of happiness outside ourselves just as surely as when we believe another person makes us angry or afraid. Everything becomes an opportunity to recognize the internal source of experience. Michael then explores the extraordinary potential of the human brain and asks what humanity might become if we stopped filling a system designed for Love with hostility, fear, grief and trauma. The question he and Jeanie taught granddaughter Aria becomes the center of the discussion: “Why are we here?”—“To be Love.” Rather than accepting inherited assumptions about limitation, Michael invites listeners to consider what conscious Human Being might actually make possible. Roma introduces Carl Jung’s distinction between personal-family conditioning and societal conditioning. The group explores enemy consciousness, separation, war, racial and cultural programming and the deeply embedded belief that someone else must lose for us to win. Michael contrasts this with lifting one another and creating win-win outcomes, observing that each person who heals contributes to healing the larger human field. The conversation moves into right-versus-wrong thinking. Celinda recognizes that being invested in being right can create entitlement while identification with being wrong can create worthlessness. Susan then challenges Michael’s presentation style, explaining that certainty can sometimes trigger her old experience of being wrong or excluded. Michael welcomes the feedback and gives her the MindShifter, “I love it when people reach out to hold me accountable for my misbehavior.” Their exchange becomes a living demonstration of responsibility, accountability and communication without abandoning relationship. The discussion ultimately returns to Y’Shua’s teaching: rather than efforting to “love your neighbor,” maintain Rakhma so Love remains active within you. When rage or conflict arises, it becomes another opportunity to heal what interferes with Being Love. YouTube https://youtu.be/CN-i-ACVapk Additional Notes: Cultural conditioning that someone has to lose for another to win. michael had a conversation with someone who said he hoped michael was wrong about eternal life because then what he believes he would not have to be the loser. African Proverb “Until the story of the hunt is told from the perspective of the lion, the story will be told from the perspective of the hunter.” African Proverb “If you want to go quickly go alone, but if you want to go far go together.” Shakespeare says ‘My words fly up but my thoughts remain below.’ Their words were that ‘I wished I failed, not that I would be wrong.’ What we hear is not what is said. March 17, 2022 Jeanie and Michael begin with an update on her father’s transition into memory care and discuss nutritional approaches they are experimenting with as part of his care, including MCT and coconut oil, while reporting changes they believe they are observing in his cognition and mobility. Susan continues the previous day’s exploration of being right. A disagreement over vaccination threatens to divide her family before a reunion. Using Michael’s Commitment, she repeatedly returns to the question of what matters most—the issue or maintaining Love and relationship. After struggling through the night, she asks Rukha for support in writing a letter to her sister. She reports that the words came readily and that she felt significantly freer after sending it. The conversation expands from family conflict to war. Susan examines the adversarial language of the Ukrainian national anthem, and the group considers how collective speech can perpetuate enemy consciousness. Michael guides listeners through a slow Breath pattern and invites everyone to hold a space in which those involved in conflict can own their part, heal internally and establish accountability as protection and Love rather than punishment. This leads to a spontaneous idea for a global anthem built around liberty, gentleness, Human Life and the Presence of Love. Participants begin imagining musicians collaborating to put healing language into music. Michael connects the possibility with Rukha d’Qudsha, described as the inner power that undoes the effects of errors and reveals Truth across the patterns carried through individuals, families and cultures. Celinda brings the discussion back to language and relationships. Michael explains that regulatory speech is not corrected merely by substituting nicer words over unresolved material. The words reveal what requires healing; after that underlying material is Forgiven, healthier language can arise naturally. “Doing the right thing” while the old energy remains underneath becomes propitiation rather than true transformation. summary of chapter 5 The Way of Mastery, Dr Tim is posting the archives at https://mindshifters-academy.org/way-of-mastery-on-mindshifters-radio-with-commentary/
March 18, 2022 Dr. Michael Ryce revisits one of his foundational workshops, explaining why its title changed from Healing Your Relationships to Healing Through Relationships. He came to see that relationships themselves are not diseased; they accurately reveal what the participants bring into them. Their deeper purpose is therefore to expose unresolved internal material so it can be healed. Michael describes how the excitement of a new relationship can temporarily anesthetize old pain. As the “honeymoon” fades, unresolved fear and hostility surface and are often projected onto the partner. At that point, partners can move toward interdependence by taking responsibility and supporting one another’s healing, or return to childhood Power Person patterns of blame, accusation, withdrawal and codependence. Language such as “you make me angry” becomes a warning that denial is operating. The discussion moves into Michael’s mind-body model, in which chronic fear and hostility affect circulation and physiological functioning. He presents physical approaches that support circulation alongside Forgiveness of the mental-emotional energies, emphasizing his view that working at both levels can accelerate change. Relationships then enter what Michael calls the “opportunity phase.” Rather than relating to bodies as disposable objects, partners recognize one another as Beings and allow previously hidden generational and childhood material to emerge. Quoting Carl Jung and François Fénelon, Michael describes the sometimes-uncomfortable experience of seeing more of what has been hidden precisely because greater awareness is developing. Forgiveness removes what is “off the mark” so the true creative nature of Love can increasingly become present. Celinda closes by observing that Michael’s voice itself sounds softer and less constricted than in recordings from decades earlier. Michael connects this with the evolution of his Commitment, explaining that each revision came from another issue he personally encountered and worked through. YouTube https://youtu.be/UIm2rMcfd_o |

March 21, 2022 This episode centers on addiction and a draft article Michael calls “Aliens Shocked.” He defines addiction as the compulsive use of an anesthetic—alcohol, drugs, sex, television or another activity—to keep unresolved pain from being felt and healed. The article imagines an extraterrestrial observer encountering a culture that celebrates by consuming alcohol and then being astonished by its effects on judgment, behavior, health, families and relationships.
Michael reviews research and statistics he had gathered about alcohol and argues that its cultural normalization obscures serious physical and social consequences. He is particularly concerned with intoxication weakening inhibitory functions so that behaviors ordinarily restrained can emerge. He also questions the role intoxicants may play in violence and war and extends the discussion to other substances used to escape internal pain. A caller describes how The Way of Mastery helped her change her relationship with her daughter and son-in-law. Rather than watching their behavior and trying to fix it, she practiced direct observation, listened more carefully and returned responsibility to herself. She then shares that alcohol had accompanied many of the choices she later regretted, including a blackout in college during which she was sexually assaulted. Her healing included releasing self-condemnation and choosing integrity in later relationships. Angie describes childhood memories of adults changing frighteningly as drinking progressed and connects those experiences with feeling unsafe. She also discusses living with a former partner struggling with addiction and discovering that money had been stolen from her. Michael cautions her against turning the situation into self-blame and suggests Forgiveness work around innocence, responsibility and the belief that everything is her fault. She wants any practical action she takes to arise from clarity and accountability rather than punishment. The program reinforces the core teaching that addiction is fundamentally an attempt to anesthetize unresolved pain. When workable tools are consistently applied to the pain itself, the need for the anesthetic can diminish. YouTube https://youtu.be/iJj3EpC1jTU |

March 22, 2022 This episode presents an extended Laws of Living teaching on Orita, which Michael describes as Cause Law rather than religion, morality or the rules of a superior. Orita describes how the human energy system actually works. He distinguishes it from customs and traditions created by people and argues that confusing the two has transformed life-giving law into fear, guilt, condemnation and control. Michael describes Rakhma and Khooba as two filters governing intention and perception. When these are operating in harmony with Love and Truth, fear loses its governing power. He contrasts this with religious systems that teach fear in the name of Y’Shua, arguing that Y’Shua’s work was about restoring sanity and liberty rather than creating fear of a punitive God. The crucifixion becomes an example of the First Law rather than a glorification of suffering. In Michael’s Aramaic interpretation, Y’Shua’s demonstration was maintaining Love in the most extreme circumstance. Michael also discusses the Aramaic wording traditionally rendered “forsaken,” interpreting it instead as being set apart for a purpose and presenting the moment as realization rather than abandonment. Law is compared with gravity or putting the correct fuel in a vehicle. The law does not punish; it simply produces predictable results. “Sin” is again described as an archery term meaning off the mark. Michael argues that fear and intimidation cannot produce sane human behavior because they themselves are the recipe for blockage and reduced intelligence. Instead, children need the recipe for sanity: Love Truth, Forgiveness and understanding how Human Life works. The Beatitudes are then presented through Touveyhoun as instructions for activating latent guidance already implanted within the human system. Michael distinguishes the world-conditioned or “carnal” mind from the Mind of Christ and describes transformation as a dual process: Forgive the hostile and fearful programming while consciously strengthening connection with the Mind of God and Rukha. The program concludes by emphasizing regulatory speech. Words become repeated speech, silent speech and eventually unconscious instructions governing behavior, just as learning to drive moves from spoken instructions into automatic competence. Words therefore help build the Personal Code from which behavior emerges. YouTube https://youtu.be/-fYJosdpxVw |

March 23, 2022 Michael begins by appreciating the growing intimacy and depth of the MindShifters and StillPoint Breathing community. He then revisits the previous day’s alcohol discussion before returning to the central theme of Forgiveness. His new shorthand is striking: Forgive continuously, yet never forgive another person, including yourself, for anything. Forgiveness, in the Aramaic framework, removes the energetic root of pain rather than pardoning a person.
Hostility and fear are compared with a computer “blue screen”: while they dominate perception, nothing genuinely constructive can occur. Punishment and getting even simply add more trauma to the system. By contrast, bringing conscious Love into a circumstance creates a different field, illustrated again through tuning forks and the law of resonance. A sweet moment comes through granddaughter Aria, who tells Jeanie she loves Papaw so much that if he were little she could love him even more. Michael and Jeanie use the moment to reflect on a child naturally pouring Love into the world and adults learning from that openness. Susan’s study group raises a useful Power Person refinement: the individual is functioning as a Power Person specifically when that person is outside Love. The group also observes that religious institutions can turn Y’Shua into a Power Person by attributing fear-based or condemning statements to him. Michael welcomes these fresh perspectives as examples of how collective inquiry advances the work. Later, the conversation turns toward cultural programming. Experiences with refugees, Tibetan Buddhist teachers and different cultures lead participants to ask whether an entire culture can function as a Power Person. Michael says it can when it meets the same conditions: functioning outside Love, possessing greater power and being experienced as necessary for survival. Cultural fear, manipulation and control can then become internalized and reproduced unconsciously until Forgiven. YouTube https://youtu.be/0ozh8TZnALY |

March 24, 2022 Dr. Michael Ryce begins with the importance of safety and Truth in healing trauma. Traumatic material was originally hidden because the person did not feel safe enough to remain present with it. Healing therefore requires creating enough safety for those parts of the mind to reopen. He connects this with the nine-bit model of perception and emphasizes that language determines how that tiny perceptual window is organized. If we say “you made me angry,” the mind constructs a world that appears to prove another person caused the anger. That fills the available perceptual space with a lie and blocks access to Truth. Changing the language to “this brought up anger in me” gives the mind permission to reveal the internal material. When that material becomes visible in the Presence of Love, Forgiveness can begin dissolving it. Michael distinguishes treatment from healing. In his framework, emergency medical treatment may suppress dangerous symptoms and can sometimes be life-saving, while healing addresses the underlying processes that produced the disturbance. He connects this again with Aramaic Forgiveness: collapse the perception based on an external cause, create room for Truth and address the internal dis-ease energy directly. Bob calls from Australia and describes an explosion of creativity since publishing his first book and his personal mission to help eliminate suicide. He presents his own understanding of depression as a wound of the soul rather than simply “mental illness,” and names integrity, simplicity, sovereignty, uniqueness and equality as guiding principles in his recovery. The discussion returns to original innocence. Michael uses the newborn again to distinguish true Being from the identities imposed by Power Persons, culture and painful experience. Forgiveness removes those acquired identifications rather than constructing a better false self. Another caller develops the idea that culture itself may function as a Power Person, with Michael again explaining how fear and survival-based cultural programming can become internalized and replicated. March 25, 2022 Following a global Why Is This Happening to Me Again? book-club session in which a newcomer was walked through a worksheet, Michael turns to A Course in Miracles, Chapter 12, “The Sane Curriculum.” His central point is that reading and intellectual understanding are valuable only insofar as they direct us toward actual practice. The purpose of the book club is therefore less about studying the book than learning Forgiveness.
The Course statement “only Love is strong because it is undivided” becomes the basis for examining attack. Attack is interpreted as evidence of weakness and separation because the person delivering attack receives its energetic original while another receives only the “carbon copy.” The world of attack is described as false perception, while true Being remains untouched beneath the constructed image. Rukha d’Qudsha is presented as the inner teacher—the feminine elemental force that undoes the effects of errors and teaches Truth. The Biblical “desert” becomes a metaphor for the unconscious filled with old causes and programming. The way out is not more intellectual analysis from the same conditioned mind but allowing the old causes to be removed. Michael makes the intentionally provocative statement, “Don’t study A Course in Miracles. Learn Forgiveness.” Words can point toward an experience, but they cannot supply the experience itself. Holding a newborn can provide a direct encounter with Love that thousands of words about Love cannot reproduce. The function of words is therefore to transmit usable tools. The discussion then returns to goals. When a violated goal recruits anger or fear, canceling that goal collapses the perceptual construct and opens access to the unconscious material beneath it. Michael uses the example of wanting “Bill” to honor us: canceling the goal does not mean we no longer value honor; it temporarily dismantles the structure that is hiding our own pain. Michael compares Forgiveness with Michelangelo revealing David by removing everything that was not David. Nothing needs to be added to Human Being; Forgiveness removes what obscures it. Celinda later describes entering a receptive, childlike state of listening without effort, leading to a discussion of true education as drawing out what is already present rather than filling the child with conditioning. March 28, 2022 The episode begins with one ordinary therapeutic question: “How did that make you feel?” Michael argues that this language quietly teaches the mind that an external circumstance created an internal feeling. Drawing on neuroscientist Anil Seth’s description of perception as the brain’s “best guess,” he distinguishes Reality—the construct produced within the mind—from Actuality—what is actually happening. Even a highly accurate perception remains a mental representation rather than Actuality itself. Goals and words determine which tiny portion of information becomes the nine-bit perceptual construct. Michael uses hypnosis as an illustration: tell a hypnotized person that a stage is the bow of a ship, and the mind can generate a convincing visual world that matches the instruction. In the same way, language such as “you hurt me” directs the evidential mind to assemble proof that another person caused the pain. Responsibility changes the instruction. When we say an event resonated pain already within us, the mind gains permission to show the internal source. Denial, by contrast, requires dissociation from that source and helps create an unconscious mind. Michael argues that repeated suppression adds energy to the hidden pattern, increasing the likelihood of another “Why Is This Happening to Me Again?” experience. He illustrates resonance with a compressed spring, tuning principles and Marcel Vogel’s work with the Delaware Camera. Within Michael’s framework, thoughts generate energetic patterns that can resonate compatible material in others, which helps explain why relationships so reliably activate unresolved dynamics. Rather than seeing this as punishment, he describes the world as continually revealing what remains available for Forgiveness. Michael contrasts Y’Shua’s Forgiveness technology with Paul’s lament that he repeatedly did what he did not want to do. The worksheet is presented as a practical answer: locate the painful perception, identify the goal, cancel the goal, collapse the projection and gain access to the unconscious content for removal. Susan’s questions then lead into free will, imagination and ancestry. Michael proposes that inherited energetic programming may provide an initial trajectory while conscious Choice and Forgiveness can rewrite what unfolds. He recalls a StillPoint experience in which he perceived his ancestry as lights surrounded by unresolved darkness and consciously agreed to participate in healing that inherited pain. March 29, 2022 Susan returns to the previous day’s discussion of Marcel Vogel and the Delaware Camera, asking whether it photographs “negative thoughts.” Michael corrects the premise: the claim is that it detects an energetic wave associated with thought, regardless of whether we label the thought positive or negative. He uses the image of a pebble dropped into still water and then the familiar middle-C tuning-fork demonstration to explain his model: motion creates a patterned wave carrying information from its source, and resonance occurs where another compatible frequency exists.
That becomes a major teaching about resonance as feedback. Michael proposes that when hostility, fear or another incoherent pattern exists within us, circumstances and people capable of resonating that pattern move into our experience. The event therefore becomes information rather than an enemy: instead of “you caused this hate in me,” responsibility allows, “this interaction revealed hate already active within me.” Forgiveness can then address the internal pattern. In this framework, even circumstances ordinarily called terrible can become opportunities for healing because they expose what has remained unresolved. Susan asks how this applies to the state of the world—poverty, climate change, plastics, war and other enormous human problems. Michael responds from possibility rather than despair, pointing to the dramatic reduction in global extreme poverty and to people who have created water, food and healthcare systems. Jeanie checks figures during the program and reports a decline from roughly 1.9 billion people in extreme poverty in 1990 to about 650 million in 2018. The deeper principle is that suffering over the suffering adds another field of suffering; healing our own resonance with it allows us to become more effective participants in solutions. Michael extends this into purpose and critical mass. He suggests that each person may have something unique to bring into the world, yet hostility, fear, grief, trauma and preoccupation can obscure our receptivity to guidance. As individuals clear those patterns and listen, more of the intelligence required for human solutions can emerge. The healing of the individual and the healing of the planet are therefore presented as aspects of the same process. Susan then jokes about hermits escaping the friction of life, which opens an important distinction. Michael deliberately uses movies such as Braveheart and Outlander to resonate unresolved vengeance and ancestral material so he can Breathe and process what surfaces. The absence of visible ripples on the pond does not mean the material is gone; it may simply remain untriggered. Facing what is within us allows it to become conscious and available for Forgiveness rather than continuing to influence life from outside awareness. The 2022 Academy Awards incident involving Will Smith and Chris Rock then becomes an immediate public illustration of the Power Person dynamic. Michael reads from Smith’s memoir describing witnessing his father strike his mother when Smith was nine and Smith’s lifelong anguish about failing to protect her. Michael interprets Smith’s later striking of Chris Rock as the ultra-stress phase of the Power Person pattern: decades later, the adult performs essentially the behavior he most hated seeing his Power Person perform. The point is larger than Smith himself: unhealed childhood trauma can remain behaviorally active for decades. Susan brings this into her own family, describing a grandson who under stress becomes like his father and sometimes seems unable afterward to remember his behavior. Michael discusses dissociated personas or “masks” formed around trauma and proposes that Forgiveness collapses the current perception into its underlying traumatic root, where the stored material can become available in the Presence of Love. Importantly, he also acknowledges that another person cannot be forced to use the tool: his job is to deliver it and support its availability, rather than carry a goal that everyone must receive it. The program closes by returning to how difficult genuine healing can initially appear. Asking someone to do a worksheet may mean inviting that person to open the veil over material their mind once buried because it was overwhelming. Michael connects this with Y’Shua’s image of the veil of the temple being rent and describes the work as opening access between subconscious and unconscious material so what has been hidden can finally be met and healed. March 30, 2022 The previous day’s discussion of violence becomes the foundation for a deeper teaching on Rakhma, Love and the Mind of Christ. Michael observes violence in families, politics and Ukraine and argues that the answer to violence is not counterviolence. Modeling teaches children to use force to obtain results, and those Power Person patterns can later become automatic adult behavior. Forgiveness weakens the internal energetic patterns from which violent responses emerge. Michael then makes an important Aramaic distinction. He says Y’Shua’s instruction conventionally translated as “love your neighbor” is actually about maintaining Rakhma with neighbor, Creator and self—a condition that allows conscious, active, present Love to become available. The task therefore shifts from trying to love somebody to maintaining the internal condition in which we can function as Love. The newborn again provides the experiential reference: we recognize Love as what the child is, rather than an action the newborn performs toward us. “Let thine eye be single” is interpreted as a principle of creation: what we repeatedly give attention to receives our creative energy. Hating hatred adds another expression of hatred; becoming violent toward violence adds another expression of violence. The alternative is to bring forward the state we actually intend to strengthen—Human Life functioning as Love. Michael therefore describes the purpose of relationship, whether with spouse, child, parent, employee or even battlefield enemy, as returning to the Truth of who we are and functioning from that state. He makes another provocative distinction: hostility is described less as an emotion than as an anesthetic used to cover pain. When hostility deadens awareness of pain, it also deadens awareness of Love. This leads to the thesis he states repeatedly during this program: “all death is self-inflicted, all death is suicide.” Within his model, anything restricting the flow of Love through the human system is disintegrative, while Forgiveness removes the interfering energy. Roma asks him to expand that thesis. Michael begins with the conservation of energy and reasons from there that Human Being is energetic and therefore eternal, while physiological form changes when disintegrative energies are introduced. He explicitly presents this as his thesis: if energies unlike Love—rage, fear, guilt, grief and hatred—were continually Forgiven rather than stored, what we call aging, disease and death might radically change. The explanation becomes especially important when Michael walks through sadness. If sadness arises because he wants his granddaughter to be present tomorrow, he does not suppress the sadness. He feels it fully, identifies the goal driving the perception of loss, and cancels that goal. Canceling the goal does not mean he ceases wanting his granddaughter there. It collapses the sadness-based perceptual construct, potentially exposing older grief and loss carried in physiology or ancestry. That deeper energy can then be met in the Presence of Love. Roma then asks about the apparent activity of “loving” another person. Michael refines the language again: Love is the state of Being; what appears as loving another can be understood as the extension of that state of Being. This distinction protects Love from becoming a transaction. With granddaughter Aria, he describes learning to stand in Love, recognize her as Love and support her in experiencing herself from that same state. The Will Smith example returns as a vivid demonstration of generational programming. Michael distinguishes Smith’s Being from the pain-driven Power Person dynamic: the violent behavior is not presented as who Smith truly is, but as what unresolved pain produced under sufficient stress. The practical moment of freedom occurs when the pattern activates and the person can stop, Breathe, recognize “this is not my true nature,” and Forgive rather than replicate the inherited behavior. Susan then asks whether becoming quieter and less adventurous with age means she is losing something important. Michael reframes some of what she describes as wisdom and enjoyment of her own company. He gives her a MindShifter aimed directly at her recurring expectation that she is probably doing something wrong: “Whatever I do, I know that the Truth is my behavior is on track and I’m doing the right thing.” He suggests that the opposite message may originate in a Power Person pattern. Reading The Way of Mastery continues, Dr Tim is posting the archives at https://mindshifters-academy.org/way-of-mastery-on-mindshifters-radio-with-commentary/ Lesson 7
March 31, 2022 The final program of March begins with an unusually concise statement of the purpose of the entire work: change the content of the human mind and the world one experiences changes with it. Michael describes humans as creators living in an energetic world governed by resonance. Internal content shapes perception, physiology, behavior and the circumstances with which we resonate. Forgiveness is therefore presented as the technology for changing the content of mind by transmuting what never belonged in the Human system. Responsibility is essential because blame hides the internal root. When someone says the problem is somebody else’s fault, the content driving repeated experience remains inaccessible. Taking responsibility opens access to what had appeared hidden, allowing a “total restructuring project” within the mind. Michael then gives one of the clearest formulations in this March series of the three conditions that install the Power Person dynamic: someone has greater control over the individual than the individual has over themselves; that powerful person is functioning outside Love; and the individual experiences the circumstance as involving survival. Under those conditions, the child’s field becomes highly receptive and absorbs the energetic dynamics of the environment. He follows with the three behavioral expressions governed by stress. With little stress, the individual automatically does what they learned to do to get along with the Power Person. As stress rises, they do what they learned to resist or survive the Power Person. Under extreme stress, they tend to do what the Power Person did that they hated most. This becomes the architecture through which Michael again interprets the Smith/Rock incident. The forty years in the “desert” are interpreted symbolically: desert represents the unconscious, while “generation” is connected with cause. For the old generation to “die,” in Michael’s reading, means the old causes carried from previous generations must be removed. The Promised Land consequently becomes the condition of conscious co-creation in which inherited causes no longer automatically dictate present behavior. Generational healing: a person can originate an energy and behavior perhaps never before seen in their bloodline. Forgiveness becomes the passage from inherited automaticity into conscious origination. Hence the recurring paradox: Forgive continuously, while never forgiving another person—or yourself—for anything. The object of Forgiveness is the internal material interfering with Love, rather than a supposedly guilty person. Magda adds another dimension to the Oscars discussion by suggesting that Chris Rock’s reported work in therapy may help explain his ability to remain composed after being struck. Michael sees the contrast as an illustration of what happens when traumatic material has been processed: two people may encounter resonant material, yet healing can make a profoundly different behavioral response available. Racism, cultural violence and accountability. Michael discusses Sacheen Littlefeather’s 1973 Academy Awards appearance on Marlon Brando’s behalf and the hostility surrounding it. The deeper teaching is that people acting from hostility and fear are themselves operating from pain and Power Person dynamics. Yet compassion does not eliminate accountability. Michael recalls Judge Asa D. Kelley as someone who could sentence people to prison from concern for community protection rather than punishment or hatred. Accountability and Love can occupy the same space. Susan has been working with the MindShifter, yet discovers that she has no words for what arises. Rather than treating the absence of language as failure, Michael suggests it may indicate a Power Person dynamic originating before verbal development. He encourages her to use her artistic ability—color, shape, symbol or image—while maintaining Breath and asking Rukha to reveal what is moving beneath language. Susan spontaneously describes herself in “a very dark little box with thick walls,” curled into a fetal position. Michael interprets the imagery as potentially pointing toward an in-utero experience and invites her to remain receptive rather than forcing an intellectual explanation. He encourages Breath, uncensored writing and imagery, while acknowledging that what arises may initially feel invented. The essential process is allowing the underlying energy to become available for processing. He then connects this directly with Forgiveness: identify what would bring relief, locate the corresponding goal, cancel that goal and allow whatever lies beneath—color, symbol, emotion, memory or words—to emerge. Whether the resulting narrative proves historically literal is secondary to processing the energetic material it accesses. Michael extends the possibility into the bloodline, describing individual healing as potentially loosening an inherited pattern throughout the family system. YouTube https://youtu.be/t7gjpCFuliE |
